چکیده
The port-Hamiltonian system approach is intended to be an innovative and unifying way of modeling multiphysics systems, by expressing all them as systems conservation laws. Indeed, the increasing developments in recent years allow finding better control coupling strategies. This work aimed apply such Naghdi–Reissner’s five-kinematic-field shell model linear elasticity, while including often-neglected higher-order intrinsic geometric effects, therefore preparing theoretical background required for (or interconnection) with acoustic fluid different types interactions that can arise among them. derived thusly used controller design a wide variety applications inflatable space structures, launcher tank vibration damping, payload protection using smart materials, many other related applications.

Generation and Fracturing of Thick Shells
In this paper we present methods to generate and animate shells with a pre-defined thickness. Given a polygonal surface mesh, a thick shell is constructed by computing a second, extruded polygonal surface. We introduce methods to simulate deformation and fracture of thick shells in realtime. Mass-spring models are used in this context. A novel simulation framework to generate, animate and inter...
متن کاملA review of functionally graded thick cylindrical and conical shells
Thick shells have attracted much attention in recent years as intelligent and functional graded materials because of their unique properties. In this review paper, some critical issues and problems in the development of thick shells made from Functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) are discussed. This review has been conducted on various types of methods which are available for thick ...
متن کاملWrinkling of pressurized elastic shells.
We study the formation of localized structures formed by the point loading of an internally pressurized elastic shell. While unpressurized shells (such as a ping-pong ball) buckle into polygonal structures, we show that pressurized shells are subject to a wrinkling instability. We study wrinkling in depth, presenting scaling laws for the critical indentation at which wrinkling occurs and the nu...

On microscopic scales, the crystallinity of flexible tethered or cross-linked membranes determines their mechanical response. We show that by controlling the type, number, and distribution of defects on a spherical elastic shell, it is possible to direct the morphology of these structures. Our numerical simulations show that by deflating a crystalline shell with defects, we can create elastic s...
متن کاملIndentation of ellipsoidal and cylindrical elastic shells.
Thin shells are found in nature at scales ranging from viruses to hens' eggs; the stiffness of such shells is essential for their function. We present the results of numerical simulations and theoretical analyses for the indentation of ellipsoidal and cylindrical elastic shells, considering both pressurized and unpressurized shells. We provide a theoretical foundation for the experimental findi...
